Yoga is not about concentration,
Yoga is about learning to open the mind.
Class Level Descriptions
The Level 1 class is for both new beginners and those who like an easier class. Level 1 classes include the basic standing postures, as well as the easier inverted, forward bend, back bend, and twisting postures. Proper breathing and relaxation techniques will also be learned.
The Level 2 class is most appropriate for students with at least one year of yoga experience, although a healthy, somewhat athletic beginner can be successful. Level 2 classes include all the standing postures, as well as many inverted, forward bend, back bend and twisting postures. The breathing techniques include 5-5-5-5 and Viloma 3 (see Pranayama). The meditation includes learning the difference between concentration techniques and meditation, as well as the basic principles of effortlessness and openness.
The Level 3 class is appropriate for students with at least several years of experience. Level 3 includes all the standing and inverted postures, as well as most of the forward bend, back bend, twisting, and arm balance postures. The breathing techniques include those in Level 2, as well as the Bandhas and Alternate Nostril Breathing. The meditation continues the deepening of the practice.
